Paris Hilton given Heart of Gold Award

Paris Hilton is to be awarded the 2011 Heart of Gold Award by Starlight Children's Foundation.

The hotel heiress, her mother Kathy and sister Nicky will all receive the accolade for their work with the charity, which benefits seriously and terminally ill children.

The trio have been chosen as they are ''individuals who have a deep commitment to children and generous hearts.''

They will be presented their awards at the charity's A Stellar Night annual gala, which pays tribute to the children associated with the charity, tells their stories and also honours humanitarian efforts.

The Hiltons have previously held days at their Bel Air, Los Angeles estate for children from the Starlight foundation where they have worked with the children on activities such as painting pictures and playing games.

Paris, Nicky and Kathy also designed three T-shirts in association with US fashion chain Forever 21, all the proceeds from which went directly to Starlight.

Paris - famed for her love of clothes and huge stocks of designer shoes and dresses - also hosts an annual closet sale, donating all the profits to charities including Starlight.

Also to be honoured at Starlight's A Stellar Night will be Do Won Chang, the founder and C.E.O. of Forever 21, who will collect the Jacki Carlish Humanitarian Award.
