Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) has broken into the Turkish renewable energy market.

The American company has sold three PureCycle Organic Rankine Cycle units with the capacity to generate up to 780 kW of geothermal power to the Jeoden Electricity production project, in Denizli, near Izmir, Turkey.

Chuck Levey, vice president of sales and marketing for Pratt & Whitney Power Systems, said: “Turkey has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing its geothermal resources to help meet the region's energy needs. Our PureCycle Organic Rankine Cycle units will create a new source of clean, renewable power for the area.”

The project, which converts geothermal heat from existing water sources, is being run by Jeoden Geothermal, a joint venture between NRG Enerji and MDO Group.
